SPOIWO is a 5 pieces instrumental post rock band from Gdańsk, Poland. The story behind of this release is a great story of friendship and determination.
These guys are all friends, and know each other for more than 15 years. They started to play music to spend time together and have fun, but in the end it become something more, something absolutely special and worth mentioning.
After a successful crowd-funding campaign they had the possibility to record their best tracks as a debut professional release and this is where the fun begins.
Salute Solitude is way more that a “best of” from the band, it’s truly and expression of their inner souls. Here is the single track release:
Sounds are big, fat with infinite depth, epic but with an impressive balance between instruments and arrangements which denotes the great affinity and complementarity of the 5 friends, every one completing each other like natural elements.
Pads, Leads and Piano parts are warm and organically played by the two keyboards, guitar feedback add the right quantity of darkness without being exaggerate or too prominent like the shoe-gaze tradition deserves. Guitar remind me Sigur Ros Jonsi playing style.
Bass is subtle but engaging, successfully participating also in the low end drones, Drums are epic with an excellent work on toms.
Even if the arrangements are quite similar with the drone-crescendo layering-fade out structure, the quality of sounds and sonic research are really variegated, keeping always the listener attached to the tracks without ever wanting to press the skip button.
After multiple listening i have to say i have not a favorite track which is a great thing in my opinion. Everything in this 7 tracks album is a journey that surrounds the hearth of the listener giving him sense of peace, strength, mystery and melancholy.
In the end and nice discovery really recommended listening that surely deserves some featuring as soundtrack for movies.
SPOIWO release is available in limited edition CD for only 6 bucks and of course in digital format for 4.5 euro.

We Lost The Sea are an instrumental 6 pieces band from Sydney Australia (i have beautiful memories about this place)
2015 bring us their 3rd album ‘Departure Songs’ out through Brid’s Robe Records.
This is the first album of the band without the singer Chris Torpy, a friend sadly lost in 2013, so it’s the first instrumental experiment for We lost the Sea.
The record is an epic and honorable journeys throughout history, a celebration of life and triumph over the ordinary. As they say: “Each song has it’s own story and is a soundtrack to that story.”
Besides his background ‘Departure Songs’ it’s a great album so far, one of the best progressive post rock release of the year so far.
The compositions are elegant, lush, deep, epic with a great balance between warm soft melodies and heavy noise parts.
Every song has dedicated wonderful artwork created by the Matt Harvey (guitars) and it’s fully available for sale. i have to say that the artworks is really something special and inspiring.
When i’ve hear the album, i felt like somebody told me a 5 stories without saying any single word. In my opinion this highlights the complexity and depth of this 5 songs full length of around 60 minutes of this wonderful absolutely in tune band.
Amazing record. Do yourself a favor. listen it and support the band.
Endless Colour is a collaboration between Guitarist/ Composer Nicholas Bentall and Trumpet player/ Music Producer Kristofor Anderson
Their brainchild brought us the self titled 4 track debut EP, born in United States.
Nicholas and Cristofor are able to mix different genres such as post rock, math rock, jazz in really smooth and elegant arrangements, sometimes lulling the listeners, sometimes trying to hypnotize them, like in the track “To Die Would Be A Great Adventure” where soft psychedelic melodies are fused with background drones of synths and trumpet leading to the extraordinary chorus highlighted by chorale patterns. This song denotes excellent solution from the sonic and structure point of view.
“Together” is another great song where Endless Colour show their ability on song structure and placement. Excellent result for a track that also show the band muscles. My favorite track so far.
Endless Colour give us with their instrumental Ep feelings of hope, warmth and peace.
Highly recommended for those who wants to listen to new sounds. Experimental Music of this level is always welcome here.

Album release 4 june 2015.
This is the 4h full length album from The Best Pessimist.
The Best Pessimist is a one-man-band project started in 2009 by the Ukrainian musician and composer Sergey Lunev.
First of all this album is addictive, you simply cannot stop listening to it. Piano parts contain wonderful melodies, layers of synth pads and ambient guitars create a deep, overwhelming background that set the melancholic mood of the entire album.
The mix of electronic and ambient post rock elements gives to the album a freshness that other even great post rock album of this year do not have.
Amazing is the delay layers of piano and guitars that lull the listeners in a deep eerie binaural dream.
Passages between arrangement part are smooth and natural and managed by the artist with great taste and creativity.
Regarding the production, Mixing is really well-balanced, and here the mixing engineer used everything in his hand to catch the attention of the listener in every moment of the album
Emersion is the debut album created by the brainchild of Hubris, a post rock band from Switzerland released 30 April 2015.
The album shows extremely wonderful melodies and denotes a band absolutly in tune with each member.
This album hits you from the very first listen, but the experience continues to improve at every further listening.
Favourite track are “Emersion” and “Kå”
this record came after Origins, a really good album but not their best one from the beginning of GIAA career. In Helios | Erebus the band shapes their sound with an increased prominence of ambient sections and a heavy emphasis on post metal prog crescendos.
Helios/Erebus is one of the most thoughtful work since their finest albums, full of energy and therefore the listening is highly reccomended.
